(July 24, 2022) After waiting months for motor parts to arrive to get a powerplant together to drop between the frame rails of his #33 machine, Jesse James Lay finally lifted the lid to his 2022 campaign over the July 22-23 weekend in a pair of $5,000 to win special events. On Friday night at Moler Raceway Park in Williamsburg, Ohio, Jesse laid down the twenty-second fastest lap overall during qualifying prior to placing fifth in his heat race and third in the B-Main. After rolling off from the inside of the tenth row in the 'Dustbuster 40,' Jesse improved six positions during the 40-lap contest to land in the thirteenth finishing spot.

At the nearby Florence Speedway in Union, Kentucky on Saturday evening, another $5,000 top prize was up for grabs for the ground-pounding Super Late Models. Jesse slipped back to fifth in his loaded heat race and later started the 35-lap headliner from the inside of the eighth row. The hometown driver was then able to move past a couple of competitors during the feature distance and ultimately brought home another thirteenth place showing. (October 24, 2021) Jesse James Lay and his Outlaw Racing team wrapped up their version of the 2021 racing season on Saturday evening, October 23 with the annual running of the 'Fall 50' at the nearby Florence Speedway in Union, Kentucky. Jesse picked up an impressive win during heat race action before rolling off from the outside of the second row in the $5,000 to win Super Late Model headliner. Jesse James Lay Returns to Action in Florence Speedway Double-Dip
(October 3, 2021) The #33 team returned to racing action for the first time in over a month on October 1-2 at Florence Speedway in Union, Kentucky. On Friday night in the weekend opener, which shelled out a $3,000 paycheck, Jesse James Lay placed third in his loaded heat race before winding up seventh in the final finishing order of the 35-lapper. At Florence on Saturday evening, a $5,000 top prize was up for grabs for the ground-pounding Super Late Models. Jesse finished seventh in his stacked heat race prior to bringing home an eleventh place performance in the final feature of the weekend. Lay Finishes Fourth at Florence Speedway; Scratches at MRP
(August 29, 2021) Jesse James Lay and his Outlaw Racing team invaded both Moler Raceway Park in Williamsburg, Ohio and Florence Speedway in Union, Kentucky on August 27-28 for a pair of Super Late Model showdowns. On Friday night in the $4,000 to win 'Ike Moler Memorial' at MRP, Jesse timed in second fastest in his group during Valvoline Iron-Man Late Model Series qualifying and was leading his heat race before slapping the concrete wall. The damage inflicted to his #33 machine caused him to finish sixth in the prelim and unfortunately forced him to scratch from the 40-lap headliner.

At nearby Florence Speedway on Saturday, a $2,000 top prize was up for grabs in a weekly Super Late Model program. In front of a jammed-packed grandstand, Jesse won his heat race in preliminary action and ran as high as third in the 30-lap main event. As the race wore on, his steering column came loose and Jesse had his hands full in finishing fourth behind only victor Kody Evans, Austyn Mills, and Jared Bailey. Jesse James Lay Competes in Annual North/South 100
(August 15, 2021) Next up for the #33 team was a visit to the nearby Florence Speedway from August 12-14 for the 38th Annual 'North/South 100.' The Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series once again sanctioned the lucrative weekend at the Union, Kentucky facility, which kicked off on Thursday night with a $10,000 to win program dubbed as the 'North/South Shootout.' Jesse James Lay placed seventh in his loaded heat race before running tenth in his B-Main. Unfortunately, Jesse was unable to make the start in the 50-lap main event that was ultimately won by Brandon Overton.

On Friday evening at the Cincinnati-area venue, a double set of heat races were held to help set the field for the annual running of the 'North/South 100.' Jesse had a tire going down in his first heat race and finished eighth, while he wound up a solid fifth in his second prelim. He then placed fifth in his B-Main on Saturday, which was two mere positions from a coveted transfer spot into the $50,000 to win 'North/South 100' that was once again won by Brandon Overton. Up first was a $3,000 to win unsanctioned program at MRP on Friday dubbed as the 'Dust Buster 30.' Jesse James Lay ran second in his heat race and later knocked down a solid fifth place effort in the 30-lapper behind only victor Josh Rice, Steve Casebolt, James Rice, and Rod Conley. At Florence on Saturday evening in a weekly $2,000 to win showdown, Jesse placed second once again in his heat race prior to finishing fourth in the A-Main behind only race winner James Rice, Trevor Landrum, and Tommy Bailey. Jesse Falters Late with Tire Woes at Moler; Finishes Seventh
(July 11, 2021) The Outlaw Racing team and driver Jesse James Lay were back at Moler Raceway Park in Williamsburg, Ohio on Friday night, July 9. An unsanctioned special was on tap last night at MRP and a $3,000 paycheck was up for grabs for the Super Late Models. Jesse qualified well and later won his heat race in preliminary action. After starting the feature from the outside of the front row, Jesse was in the second spot until a deflating tire caused him to falter late in the race and eventually dropped him to a seventh place effort. Saturday's similar $3,000 to win show at Florence (KY) Speedway was then washed out early in the day by inclement weather. Lay Climbs Nine Spots to Nab Sixth Place Lawrenceburg Effort
(July 4, 2021) Jesse Lay and the Outlaw Racing team invaded both Moler Raceway Park in Williamsburg, Ohio and Lawrenceburg Speedway in Lawrenceburg, Indiana leading into the Independence Day holiday. On Friday night, July 2 in a $2,000 to win throwdown at MRP, Jesse won his heat race in preliminary action and was racing hard for the second spot in the feature when he unfortunately caught a rut and rolled a tire off the rim. Due to the tire trouble, Jesse was relegated to a disappointing eleventh place showing.

At Lawrenceburg on Saturday evening, July 3, a $1,500 top prize was up for grabs for the Super Late Model division. Jesse timed in fourth fastest in his group during qualifying before running fifth in heat race action. On Friday night in a $5,000 to win tilt at MRP, Jesse James Lay ran fourth in his stacked heat race prior to moving up inside of the top ten to claim a solid ninth place performance in the unsanctioned feature. At Richmond on Saturday evening, the Southern All Stars Dirt Racing Series (SAS) invaded the Commonwealth of Kentucky to preside over a $7,500 to win shootout. Jesse won his stacked heat race in preliminary action and was slated to start from the pole position in the 30-lap main event. Unfortunately, Jesse experienced rear end woes on his MB Customs mount during the pace laps and was unable to compete in the event, which dropped him to fourteenth in the final finishing order. (May 2, 2021) The Outlaw Racing team competed in one single event over the weekend, as they unloaded in the Florence Speedway pit area to do battle in the 35th edition of the 'Ralph Latham Memorial.' The Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series once again sanctioned the high-profile contest at the nearby Union, Kentucky facility, which boasted a $15,000 windfall on Saturday, May 1. Jesse James Lay discovered a hole in his radiator prior to the heat race, which cost him a chance to compete in the prelim. After making the radiator switch, Jesse passed several competitors during his B-Main to wind up in the sixth finishing position. (March 28, 2021) The season-opening trip for the Outlaw Racing team was a visit to the nearby Florence Speedway in Union, Kentucky on Saturday, March 27. The unsanctioned Super Late Model contest drew 24 competitors to the Cincinnati-area venue to compete for the $5,000 paycheck. Debuting a MB Customs racecar from Cade Dillard, Jesse Lay wound up sixth in his heat race and later rolled off from the outside of the ninth row in the 40-lap main event. Jesse was then making a charge through the feature field until folding his nose under, which caused him to finish sixteenth in the final rundown.
